Membership & Volunteering

Volunteers have been essential for the work of R2R since it was founded in 2002. Although there is now a paid full time Outreach worker and part time Admin assistant, the charity organisation still places great value on the role and contribution of volunteers. Not only do they undertake very worthwhile work, they also help to contain running costs and make existing levels of service possible. They offer clients valuable opportunities for renewal of social contact and bring a variety of life experiences – new skills which a small charity such as R2R couldn’t hope to provide, even from its dedicated staff.

Volunteering sessions exist at the two Drop sessions to assist with cooking and serving hot meals and/or chatting with the clients. Other volunteering opportunities exist such as for example, admin support, outreach support and mentoring. Full induction and training sessions are provided. The current minimum age for volunteers is 18.

If you would like to volunteer – please get in contact with our administrator Caroline Foy! Email Caroline on office@routestoroots.org or phone the office on 01202 667880.
